COOKING CLASSES

Our class offering has something for every home cook from the beginner to the aficionado. Our resident Chef Laurie Turner, as well as visiting chefs, cookbook authors, and others of note will teach both hands-on and demonstration classes. Classes are designed to share culinary techniques and use fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients, whenever possible. We'll explore influences from different cuisines, as well as play with the classics and take them to another level.

Our hands-on classes last approximately 2 1/2 hours and include recipes, a generous sampling of all dishes prepared in class and delicious wines and ales. The classes are informal and encourage interaction among students and with the chef instructor. Class size is limited to ensure an intimate learning environment.

PRIVATE CLASSES

From time to time Pairings has visting Chefs come in to hold classes, seminars or demonstrations, check back here often, peruse our calendar or give us a call to see what's coming up.

CLASS REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION POLICY

Registration and prepayment are required for all classes. This may be done via phone at (207) 223-0990, or in person by stopping by our store.

Please note that registration is a firm commitment to attend the class. All classes are non-refundable regardless of your payment method. Treat your paid class reservation as you would tickets to a cultural or sporting event. We encourage you to send someone in your place if you are unable to attend a class. No cancellation or class changes will be accepted if made within one week of the date of the class. If you cancel before the one-week cutoff date we will issue you a class gift certificate for a future class. NO CASH REFUND OF ANY TYPE WILL BE ISSUED.

Those classes with insufficient enrollment will be canceled 5 days prior to their starting date. Therefore, early registration is desirable. If we cancel a class, registered attendees will be notified by phone and they can then elect to take another class (of the same value) from the current schedule or be fully refunded. We reserve the right to cancel or modify classes and menus. If we cancel a class due to inclement weather, we will notify you as soon as that decision is made and fully refund your registration; but if we hold a class, there will be no refunds due to the weather.

Please do not ask us to make exceptions, as our chef and the rest of our staff may have already begun preparations and the process of purchasing the ingredients for and setting up the class. In some cases, we have refused someone a seat because it was reserved for you.
